CA 1902 RARE HOLLOW PREMIER BLACK MASON DECOY. Dated & Signed Inset weight.. Early Carved Black Male Duck Decoy that came from a Upstate New York or possibly the mid - west.
The daughter from the estate remembered that her grandfather telling her that the piece was very valuable and it was done by a famous carver at that time. She couldn't recall that name but what a fabulous piece. The painting is one of the finest I have ever seen. He has a 2 piece hollow body, glass eyes with the original inset weight.. Signed but cannot make it out.Several collectors (someone suggested maybe a Wheeler decoy) have looked at the piece over the years and drooled but it wasn't for sale at that time. AN EXCEPTIONAL PIECE WORTHY OF ANY COLLECTOR.
