Minty Irven Lyons Black Duck Decoy. As good as they get for decoys by J. This decoy has great, slightly folky form and exceptional paint.
The scratch work on this decoy is second to none with great work to the head and the body. Decoy is expertly carved otherwise complete with a high back, hard-shelf tail, and great surface. Check out the great bill detail including bottom nail on this decoy, it is excellent.
The thin neck is also a nice touch, giving the bird a certain graceful appearance. Decoy is stamped multiple times on the bottom, but I can't quite make out the letters. All original and excellent, as shown.About as a good as a working decoy can be. I have done my best to document this decoy through both the text above and the photographs. I will do my best to accommodate any and all requests.
The decoy you are seeing is the exact one you will be getting, therefore, there should be no surprises if you have taken the time to scroll through all the photos and read the text. Unless the decoy is listed in 100% original paint, expect some old hunter touch-up.
