Antique Widgeon Duck Decoy from Nantucket, Hunting, Waterfowl, New England
Up for your consideration is this rare, Widgeon duck decoy by Pittman from Nantucket, Mass. His birds are hard to come by and are very collectible. This one was picked up at a Decoys Unlimited, Inc. This was a working decoy and is in wonderful all original paint. It shows some minor paint chips, nicks, cracks, etc.
As to be expected with such an old, working decoy. The bill also appears to have a break in it that was repaired at some point in time. Overall, in very good condition for its age, and in original paint! Description from the Decoys Unlimited, Inc. Rare widgeon drake by Pittman from Nantucket, Massachusetts.All original paint which is artistically applied with light wear and rubs to wood at high points and along edges. Some bare wood at tail at small flake on right side. Pittman gunned with a Mr. Chase from the Island of Nantucket and finding birds by either carver is extremely difficult, especially in original paint.
