Beautiful Blue Heron Decoy Carving by Cork McGee, Chincoteague VA Signed 1991

Here's an excellently hand carved and painted blue heron by renowned Chincoteague. Cork McGee, Now 87, McGee carved alongside another Chincoteague legend Cigar Daisey.
The underside of the bird is carved "CM" and signed, "Cork McGee, Chincoteague, VA 1991". The base is also signed, "Cork McGee, Chincoteague, VA - Hand Carved for Some Very Special Friends". Clearly, this carving was given extra attention in its workmanship for his friends.
This is a very large carving, standing 17 inches high with a 22 by 11 inch wide base. The heron itself is 15 inches high by 13 inches long and 3 inches wide.The heron's crest is made from two long wood strips, quite creative. The excellent feathering paint patterns and expression of the blue heron make this an extra special carving.
Use the multiple pictures to assess condition. Excellent condition; only flaw is a missing toe (pictured) that you might not have even picked up on without it being brought to your attention.
