Beautiful Darkfeather Freedman Northern Pintail Hen Duck Decoy / Wooden Carved
This is a Darkfeather Freedman Northern Pintail Duck Decoy in Excellent Unused Condition. It is carver in the Marty Hanson style and has been stored since new and never used.
It is a rarer Darkfeather carving with a hollowed body, a nailed base, and no keel added so it could be displayed. It would be possible to add a keel for use as a working decoy. The Northern Pintail Hen (Female) measures approximately 15 1/2" long, by 6" wide, and 7 tall. It has smooth curves throughout with a tucked head and slightly aged look added during the painting.
It is painted in earth tone shades of browns, beige, black, and antique white with a patina finish added.
