24th & 25th, 2016 in Tuckerton, NJ, where the drake placed 1st in Blackducks, 2nd overall in Puddleducks and the hen earned an Honorable Mention. This is a beautiful matched pair of full size Blackduck decoys by Rick Brown, Brick Township, NJ. They are hand carved in the traditional Delaware River style from air-dried Jersey White Cedar with superb paint, detailed bills, raised primaries, fluted wings and tails, hollow bodies, high quality glass eyes, lead pad weights and leather thongs.Each decoy is signed and dated with the drake measuring about 16" in length, 6" in width, 5 3/4" in height, the hen 20" in length, 6" in width, 6" in height and both bear his personal copper ID tag. Rick was the founder and owner of Barnegat Bay Decoys which he started on the old Wildfowler Decoy Company site in the 70s. Though the company closed it's doors more than two decades ago, Rick continues to hand carve the competition quality decoys that have earned him hundreds of ribbons for more than a quarter of a century.
His decoys are highly collectible and very much sought after. This is a beautiful life size pair and some of his finest work! The ribbons will be included with the decoys. Offered with no reserve, Good Luck!
