Crisfield Signed Dated Lem Steve Ward Ward Brothers Goose Hunting Working Decoy
Offered here for your consideration is a vintage Lem & Steve Ward, Ward Brothers, full size goose decoy. It is signed and dated. It was a working decoy so it's not going to be perfect.
It is light as it is made of balsa wood. There were a lot more duck decoys made by the Ward Brothers then goose decoys. This is a nice find to add to your decoy collection. The decoy is nice for its age and given the fact it was a working decoy.It has rubs, bumps, scrapes, flaking paint, signs of age and all the normal things you'd find on a old working decoy. It is missing the weight which was probably removed so it would sit level. I had a well-known local carver who does appraisals and appraises for the Ward Museum examine it and he assured me that it is the real deal. If you are close by and would like to see it arrangements can be made.
