Early Holly Decoy, Redhead, Black Duck
Vintage James Holly style Redhead decoy, original old paint, severly worn, but has remnants of original Redhead drake paint pattern with painted eyes. It may have also been used as a Black Duck based on the later layer of black on the head and body and brown on the bill.
The length is 141/2 inches, body width is 5 3/4 inches, total height 6 1/2 inches, head height from neck seat 3 1/2 inches, head thickness 1 3/4 inches, body thickness 3 3/4 inches, chine line 2 1/4 inches. There is a tight neck crack, it has the original lead weight and staple tie.
