Exceptional R. Madison Mitchell Blackduck Decoy Circa 1950

An exceptional early Madison Mitchell Blackduck decoy in very good original paint and condition. This bird retains its original rigging and is signed and dated by Mitchell. The ballast weight is attached with single nails as was common on his earlier birds, and the scratch painting is bold and strong. There are a few paint rubs but no structural issues, which is unusual for a 65 year old plus Mitchell.
