George Coot Garton (1923-2002) Fairfield N. J. Wigeon Drake Decoy

He was the National Champion Carver in 1972, 1973 & 1974 in Babylon, Long Island, NY and World Champion Carver at the Ward Foundation in Salisbury, MD, for several years. He competed nationally in California, Michigan, Illinois and Virginia and won the Miles Hancock Gold Cup in Chincoteague Island, VA. He was a Waterfowl Festival Hall of Fame Recipient for the year 2000 in Easton, MD. He carved for Duck's Unlimited auctions in Cumberland County, Kent County, Cecil County, Talbor County and Hartford County, all in Maryland.

He had served as a guide for the Sora Gun Club in Dutch Neck, Hopewell Township. This decoy measures 11" long and 5" wide by 6.5 tall and it is branded on the underside by the carver.
