Lloyd called himself the poor mans decoy maker because he charged less for a rig of hunting decoys than anybody around, particularly the Wards, who were getting over a dollar a piece for their fancier decoys (see page 15), also see page 38 for a very similar Widgeon pair just like these (see the last 2 pics) Reference book, Lloyd J. Tyler, Decoy Maker by Henry H. Bodies measure between 9.5 - 10.5 inches long, 3.5 - 4 inches wide, 3.25 inches thick. Both have turned heads and painted eyes. All original with no damage or repairs, painted feather brushwork, carved wooden legs with painted feet and bases. The hen has a few in the making cracks on the body bottom/side as there is paint in them along with a few small scuffs on the back to bare wood, the base is marked, Lloyd Tyler, Crisfield, Md.

Overall there is some darkening of the paint and bases due to their age. A great old matched pair by a true folk artist. I have provided excellent photos with accurate descriptions and conditions carefully examine the photos as some conditions are visible. In some photos you will notice white posts these were used to support the item there may also be some camera flash glare spots. Check my other auctions for similar items.
