Lou Brittion, Old St. Lawrence River, Duck Decoy, New York, Alex Bay

Lou Britton, Alex Bay Decoy Carver. This exact decoy is pictured on page 195 of "Decoys of the Thousand Islands".

The provenance on this decoy is outstanding with Larry Lunman having interviewed Lou in 1984 (Lou would have been 92 years old) about his only rig of decoys he carved in 1923 at the encouraging of Chauncey Wheeler. He carved only 25 decoys and numbered them on the bottom. This decoy is number 11 (see photo). This decoy is in 100% original condition and paint. The decoy is in structurally very good condition with moderate gunning wear.
