Nice Vintage Canvasback Decoy tagged Chauncey Wheeler, Alexandria Bay NY
I'm a collector, not an expert so I try to give my best opinion on carvers and condition, but won't take any decoys back if you have a different opinion. All pictures taken inside with mixed fluorescent and incandescent lighting. NY Probably not a Wheeler as it lacks some of his characteristics, but this decoy does appear to have the upper NY and Lake Ontario style. It has a nice paint pattern (old gunning repaint), glass eyes and a high head, hump back shape. Head is slightly turned for a realistic appearance.
