Superb 1970s Signed Cigar Daisy Merganser Hen Duck Decoy OP Chincoteague, VA
Putting some of my decoy collection up for sale so please take a look. The word most often used when I've shown this decoy to Cigar Daisey aficionados/collectors is "WOW". Nice, turned head style give this decoy a very real appearance. Not all of Cigar's decoys were given the same attention to detail and carving style over the years, but the ones that were just stand out the way this one does. I have the new book, Delbert "Cigar" Daisey Decoy by Doily Earl Fulcher which has a detailed section on determining the age of a Cigar decoy based on the "CIGAR" brand that has changed over the years in style. The brand on this decoy would put it in the early 1970s era of his decoys. CONDITION: Use the multiple pictures to assess condition. All original paint, most likely just as it looked when he finished it back in the 1970s. This is a nice sized decoy as well. Dimensions i n Inches (Length by Width by Height) and Weight in Lbs-Oz. Approximately 18 x 5.5 x 6 inches ; 1 Lb - 12 oz. The item will be carefully and securely packaged.
