Real nice example of a vintage John Kalash Drake Bluebill decoy. A single Bluebill duck decoy made by John Kalash, formerly of Gibraltar and now of Jonesville, Michigan, C. John Kalash is the legendary sportsman who produced many functional duck, goose, crow, and fish decoys as well as sneak and layout duck hunting boats. Many homes in the Down river area of Detroit had one of these decoys on their mantle. The Drake Bluebill has John's trapping tag attached on the bottom. Decoys by John Kalash are seldom offered for sale.
