Vintage Mason Factory Premier Grade Redhead Hen Duck Decoy Hollow Original Paint
This decoy is structurally excellent and the paint is original. As one would expect of a 100-year old decoy, it does show some wear -- to the tip of the bill, the top of the head, the tip of the tail and the lower edges of the bottom. There are a few shot marks to the head and body, some of which were filled a long time ago. This decoy retains its original German glass eyes and has AB painted on the bottom. The paint is a little thin in some areas but does still show very good brush swirls so coveted by collectors. The speculums and scalloping round the breast are strong, and the neck filler has not been replaced. The horizontal body seam is still very tight. Good feather looping is still visible.
This is a very good investment grade decoy from the most highly regarded factory maker. Measures 14-1/2 long; 6 wide and 6-3/4 tall. Please ask questions or for more pictures.
