Carved by Captain Benjamin Davis sometime after 1865. This great vintage scoter is displayed in Joel Barber's book published in 1934 Wildfowl Decoys.
Many decoys have been referred to have been from this island but this is the first to be documented. This great find is of the simpliest style including an inletted head.
The bird shown in the Barber book is the drake mate to this hen. Length 16", width 8", height 7.5 and 4 lbs.
