A Very Rare Upper Bay Green Wing Teal Decoy C. 1900

Listed is one of the most elusive species of duck decoy found in the Upper Bay area of the Chesapeake Bay... Every once is a while a blue or green wing teal hits the market. This one has been in my father's collection for decades.

There was a tag the read "George Wash Barnes, Carpenters Point" on the decoy, but I'm not so sure I agree with that attribution. I' unsure who the maker is, but Barnes decoys usually have a small neck shelf, and this one has none. I see some Lockard, but not enough to pin that name on it. I actually think it looks most like a Jim Holly decoy.

It is in old working paint and I believe some of the wing bar paint to be original, but that's about it. This is a GREAT Upper Bay decoy. The item "A Very Rare Upper Bay Green Wing Teal Decoy C.
