Al Ries Wood Decoys. Pair Mallards Plus minature lapel pin
This is some of my late husbands decoy collection I will be listing. There are a lot of different decoys to list but need to do some research on them first. This is a pair of what I believe to be mallards. They are made by al ries. Al operated the tru dux factory in by Chicago Illinois.
This set was made in 1939. They measure about 15 1/2 long by 6 1/4 wide by 6 inchs tall.
They both have their original paint with some paint loss as they are about 78 years old. Plus there is a al ries 2 inch long lapel pin attached to a metal lapel base. The pin does have some damage to the beak but all in all a pretty nice piece.
They were bought from a decoy show in St. They have attached metal strip and I think it is a weight. Also has a eyelit for tying a weigth to the bottom of decoy.
These were perhaps used as a regular decoy back in the days when they used decoys for their intended purpose of hunting over. The item "Al Ries Wood Decoys.
