American hand carved matching pair working black duck decoys painted signed
WONDERFUL HAND CARVED PAIR OF WOODEN BLACK DUCK DECOYS. Each is about 17 x 7" x 9" overall. These hand carved and hand painted decoys are signed with a carved monograph, but as of this writing I have not been able to determine the maker.
Painted black duck decoys with well detailed integral heads and spotted bodies. All hand carved and hand painted. If anyone has any information on the maker, or the bird, I'd love to hear from you! Overall very good with some minor surface wear, consistent with age and usage (all visible in the images).
Obviously they were intended to be working decoys, not "sit on the shelf" models. A FINE AND INTERESTING PAIR OF AMERICAN SPORTING DECOYS.
