Antique handmade wooden mallard hen
Antique handmade wooden mallard hen. This hen mallard is made by James O'Brien, Oshkosh, Wi, circa late 1940s or early 50s, all original paint, original glass eyes, paint is in nice condition, a little in-use wear, but overall nice. Decoy is structurally sound except for the body crack on bottom that runs from front to back. Also about a 3 gouge on the left side of the decoy, these cracks do not affect it's overall shelf presentation unless you present the left side instead of the right (per pictures).
Most unusual wing speculums as they are painted backwards, pictured on page 117 in the book "Decoys of the Winnebago Lakes". Tip of bill to tip of tail 17"; width 5 3/4"; body height 4 1/2.
