Antique, Primitive Duck Decoy
Antique, primitive style wood decoy. Hand-carved and painted, probably in New England (Cape Cod). Normal wear, paint chipping but in nice condition. Handwritten notes on base are shown but are not legible.
Found in 1958 in Falmouth, Massachusetts, in a Revolutionary War era carriage house. It is not known if head was carved as a separate piece and attached, or if the neck crack is a repair.
