Collectable Vintage Preener Canvasback Hen Decoy (charles Bryan Middle River)
We got this Elegant Preening Canvasback Hen from a Virginia Collector/Dealer several years ago. She has been prominently sitting on a shelf in our collection ever since. This circa 1984 Charlie Bryan Decoy is in Excellent Shelf Kept Original Condition. She is Carved and Painted in the act of Preening Herself. This decoy has a Nicely Shaped Solid Body.
Her Back Tapers Downward to an Upswept Rounded Tail. The Artfully Carved Rear Facing Preening Head is Firmly Attached She has lovely Full Cheeks and her Short Carved Bill is Imbedded in Her Back Feathers She has subtlety Carved Bill/Face Separation and Painted Eyes. In Excellent Original Paint Very Nicely Painted Wing and Back Feathering Detail Exceptional Detailed Back Feathering Painted up onto the Right Side of her Bill.
Some rubs below water line. Retains Original Rigging = Staple & Ring and Two Nail Lead Ballast Weight. Signed In Black Marker On Bottom = "Charles Bryan Middle River, MD 1984". Previous Owners Mark in Pencil on Bottom = Bryan.
