Decorative Pair Of Pintail Decoys By Ed Snyder Of Rio Vista Ca. Pacific Flyway
FOR SALE: A drake and duck pair of decoys by Ed Snyder ofRio Vista, CA. This pair is from hisearly decorative period, when the carving still shows the Disney look to theheads that were common in Eds working birds. I acquired these in the early seventies. Both have writing on the bottom but the ink, while readable, hasunfortunately run into the wood. Male (or Hen) pintail made for Jim Lawless Made by EdSnyder 8-17-70.
Please note a crack in the paint on the drake (see photos), where the head and body meet, which I was made aware of. I do not believe this goes deeper than the paint. The hen has a very small chip from the tip of the tail, and there seems to be some painting on the right side of her face that was never entirely finished (see photos). The drake is 18 inches long, 5 inches wide and 6 ½ inches high.
