Delaware River style Black Duck decoy by Glenn Cooke Manasquan New Jersey
This is a stunning Black Duck decoy , done in the Delaware River style by well known Manasquan , New Jersey carver Glenn Cooke. Glenn was affectionately known as "The Painter" because his feather painting detail was so incredible and in fact he painted other carver's decoys = like Artie Birdsall's. This decoy is hollow carved , has great painted feather detail , is a back preener , is oil painted, it is rigged , branded and signed on the bottom by Glenn. Great example of a Delaware River style black duck by a well known New Jersey carver who now into his 80s no longer carves or paints decoys. This Black Duck measures almost 11 1/2" long and is about 4 3/4" wide.
