Exceptional Classic Roger Dolson Drake Canasback Duck Decoy Branded RD Chatham
Excellent Form, Roger Dolson Sr. A rare find an exceptionally well-formed example, this drake canvasback is a great decoy for the collector. Dolson decoys, like this one, exhibit both a touch of working class decoy style with folk art, creating a truly wonderful piece of waterfowl history.
This decoy exhibits Dolson Sr's classy style and form and simply yet effective paint detail. The heads of Dolson decoys are my personal favorite aspect, as the detail and form is exceptional. This decoy bears the correct RD brand in the bottom. Mostly all original, with the exception of an early neck crack/repair and some touch up.
The rest of the paint is all original, and overall the decoy is very pleasing. These decoys don't come along very often, and when they do they are quick sellers. I have done my best to document this decoy through both the text above and the photographs. I will do my best to accommodate any and all requests. Unless the decoy is listed in 100% original paint, expect some old hunter touch-up.
