Famous Delaware Top Decoy Carver William Veasey 1980 Canvasback Drake Duck Decoy
One of those interests was duck hunting which led to collecting duck decoys. I will eventually be listing all of my collections for sale. This drake Canvasback was hand carved as a decorative hunting wood decoy and painted by famous Delaware carver and Author William Bill Veasey in 1980. This decoy is signed by the carver on the bottom of the decoy.
It is in original paint and in excellent condition with only a couple of minor rubs. The paint surface is dry and clean and has the appearance that it was indeed carved by a master carver. This superb decoy was never rigged for hunting and has never been hunting. It has only been on display since 1980 and the bottom looks like it has always sat on something soft, as it is smooth and clean with no marks except for the hand-written signature.
This is a nice example of the work of this famous carver and will look great in your collection or all by itself on display in your home. These decoys range in value from a minor amount to many hundreds of dollars each and some even value more than a thousand dollars each.
