Folk Art Rooster By Frank Finney, Cape Charles, Va. Decoy
This charming rooster was carved and painted approximately 25 years ago by Frank Finney, one of the top sellling folk artists of our time. Carving stands about 18 inches tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the head and in length, its about 12 inches. The base has some texturing to the paint which adds to the effect. The rooster is thickly painted in reds, greens, and black and the paint is slightly aged to appear old.
The bottom is stamped with signature in ink, hard to read as it has faded, but this is definitely a Finney. A really unique carving from this talented maker.
