Heron Crane Marsh Bird hand carved wooden duck decoy
Marsh Bird Heron Crane wooden carved duck decoy. Measures from beak tip to tail tip 44. Body measures: 24 x 5 x 3.5.
The neck is 16 long and joins the body with a spline/notched type doweled joint. The neck, head and beak are made from a root or branch forming a one piece curved, graceful bend. The tail is carved with a curved downward tip. Overall, moderate wear with flaked, cracked and crazed paint throughout. There is a white undercoat with a brown topcoat.
A crack runs in the back of the neck and top of the head. The modern replacement legs and base compliment this carving.I have provided excellent photos with accurate descriptions and conditions carefully examine the photos as some conditions are visible.
