Offered is a nice Matched Pair of Canvasback Decoys by Charles Edgar Hutson Jr. Bozman is located on Maryland's Eastern Shore where Hutson Jr.
Founded Broad Creek Neck Decoys. Both are in a Sleeper or Preener pose and 13 inches in length. Each are solid and heavy for their size. Carved the birds with long sloping foreheads and bills set-off with realistically painted tack eyes. The decoys have rounded bottoms with sharply contoured narrow sides.Large "dogbone" lead weights along with copper line ties are attached to the underside. "CEH" has been stamped into the wood on the bottoms to denote the maker, and the underside of the bills are attached to the back for added stability.
The decoys are in all original paint with no touch-ups and have very light wear. There is a thin crack present on the underside of the drake between the "CEH" brand and weight as seen in photos 12-14. The crack does not go deep and is very stable. Overall, the decoys are in very nice condition and unused on the water.
