New Jersey Gunning Curlew Shorebird Duck Decoy

Here is a beautiful old large gunning bird!! Beautiful long bill and large body make this such an elegant bird. Marked S (or 5) 342 on base near stand hole. A nice gunning shorebird likely from the waters of New Jersey. Measures approximately 16 long tail to tip of bill.

Wood missing from bill area on left side so it isn't "squares off" at the bill.... But looks like it is from when the bird was originally carved as its painted over.
