Pair of Maine Eider Duck Decoys by Clem Barter Bath Maine 1988
Wonderful pair of eider ducks by known maker Clem Barker of Bath Maine. The decoys are nicely rendered, original painted surface, and glass eyes.
Has some bleed-through of red paint that may have been a primer located on ducks 103 and 68. Just adds to the authenticity of the ducks proving they have never been repainted or tampered with.Signed on the bottom Clem Barker Bath Maine 1988 Eider 103 and 68. Duck 103 is 17 1/2" long x 7 1/2" wide x 9 tall overall height. Duck 68 is 19 1/2" long x 7 1/2" wide x 8 tall overall height. These are great proportioned birds.
Have glass eyes and carved beaks. The most interesting part of these decoys is the way Clem Barker signed them on the bottom indicating gender and a circular drawing of an eider with a conjoined "C" and "B" on the head of the drawing.
