Pair Vintage Carved Blue Wing Teal Duck Decoys- Davy Nichol Ontario Mint
MINT original paint pair of BLUE WING TEAL, signed by famed Ontario carver Davy D. Nichol of Smith Falls Ontario. No dings or scrapes, have been on my shelf for more than a decade. Davy was the leader of the Smith Falls school of carving, and widely admired by collectors everywhere.
Solid body, all original paint. Circa 1960's I believe, but not marked with date. Petite little birds, measuring 10.5" tail to breast, 12" tail to bill tip, 5" wide, 5.25" tall. Flat bottom, signed by maker. Also note the typical raised carved wings and fine carved tail.
The paint is detailed and beautiful. These are as fine a Nichol pair as you can find, you will not regret these II hope you enjoys them as I have. Downsizing my collection, watch for more fine vintage birds in the coming weeks.
