A very nice early working example of a Goldeneye pair by Hormidas Thibert complete with what looks like thumb tack eyes and including the original large, hand-pounded lead weight and leather line loop. The bottom is also marked with the makers initials carved in. Overall this is a great example of Thibert's work complete with excellent feather detail carving and gouge groove carving to the back, sides, and tail. Each measures 13 long by 7 wide and 7 ½ high.
Hormidas Thibert decoys are some of the most collectible from the Quebec region due to their unique and appealing style and this is certainly a nice example. A great addition to any decoy collection.
