Rare Iron Sink Box Canvasback Duck Decoy Old Paint. This canvasback SinkBox Decoy weight is the 1st I've ever owned in all my years of dealing. I imagine they do survive because of their Hardy iron material.
However I have not seen any for sale through my years of travel. Anyway this seems to be a very nice example with an attractive form. I don't see any cracks or chunks or chips missing. Just crusty old layers of paint with a little bit of rust. A friend of mine kept this with his antique collection in Southern NJ , dry in his home for many years.
Seems like there is remnants of old layered over older paint as you can tell with some of my photos. I would imagine it's a fairly desirable example and I hope you like it as much as I do.This thing probably weighs about 25 with 30 pounds on a guess. There will be no reserve on this piece and I wish you good luck! Its a special folk art example that you will be sure to enjoy.
