In later years 1920's into the early 1940's John did wood fish spearing decoys, duck decoys (leather covered and solid wood carved) all for his own use. Well if your a collector of ULTRA RARE decoys then here is a real treat. Leather Covered Scaup or Bluebill Duck Decoy. This decoy is marked on the bottom by John showing it being owned by him, these were functional decoys and also this way people would know who to return it to if it were lost on the lake or marsh. I have done quite a bit of research on this.
