THIS GOOSE IS FROM MY DAD'S ESTATE.. HE LOVED DUCK HUNTING AND LOVED TO TAKE US TO HORICON MARSH IN WIS. TO SEE THE GEESE FLY IN. "SOUTHBOUND EXPRESS" IS A UNIQUE PIECE OF ART CARVED FROM A SINGLE BLOCK OF WOOD. DAD BOUGHT HIM FROM THE ARTIST RON FISHER IN 1984 IN WISCONSIN AND IT'S BEEN IN HIS COLLECTION EVER SINCE.

THE PIECE IS SIGNED ON THE BOTTOM IN PEN. THE PHOTOS SHOW HIM IN DIFFERENT LIGHT. WE USED TO DRESS HIM FOR EVERY HOLIDAY. THERE IS SOME CRAZING DUE TO THE DRY AIR IN TEXAS AND MY LACK OF LEMON OILING HIM OFTEN ENOUGH... BUT THE CARVING IS STILL GORGEOUS AND VERY CONTEMPORARY.

I'M AFRAID I DON'T KNOW THE TYPE OF WOOD BUT THE BLOCK USED FOR HIS BASE IS VERY HEAVY. HE WILL BE A LOVELY ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION. HE WOULD MAKE A REALLY WONDERFUL GIFT FOR THE DISCERNING COLLECTOR.
