Vintage duck decoys
This Steven's Red Head appears to have original paint with no Hunter t. Wear is consistent with age and use; BB shot would suggest it was hunted over years ago and also supports original paint; Feathered painting is about as good as you'll find for the age and use. This decoy has a lead inset weight and inset tie; As pictured you'll notice an insignificant hairline in from the end if the tail that is perhaps an inch and two insignificant hairline's bottom side.
The Stevens Company originated in, Weedsport, NY about1860, and this decoy was likely made near the end of the last quarter of the 1800's (19TH C) The detail is really wonderful for the age and it would make a fine addition to a serious collector. Measures (reasonably close) 14 5/8" X 5 5/8". Christmas is 100 Days away!
