VINTAGE GRAYSON CHESSER PINTAIL HEN DUCK DECOY-Eastern Shore, VA
This decoy measures 16 1/2" in length, 6 3/4" in width, and 6 1/2 to the top of the head. Chesser learned his craft from expert carvers like the legendary Cigar Daisy and worked on VA's Eastern Shore. The decoy has glass eyes, the original ballast weight, and great detail in the paint.
It is in very good condition, with only the most minor of rubs. It has his distinctive mark--"C"--incised on the bottom. Chesser has co-authored a book with Curtis Badger entitled: "Making Decoys the Century Old Way" that was published in 1989 as well. Please see all photos for appearance and condition.
