Vintage Hand Carved - 3 Miniatures: Wood Duck, Mallard, Canada Goose - by William Weidemann Sr. The Bird Man of St.
These Decoys measure between about 6" to 8 1/2"s long from the tip of their Beak to the end of their tail. They are perfect for tear drop table display or end tabletop displays. My wife would order these hand carved waterfowls for me each year for our Anniversary. Bill Weidemann of Paoli, PA had one of the small shops located in the St. Peters, PA (see photo of actual building still there, but naturally a different business occupies it now). My wife would place an order 8-10 months ahead of our Anniversary in order to have it by our Anniversary. For years she would do this.I'm listing them as "Used"; However, they are in "Like New - as Carved" condition However, Please Note: I noticed that the neck of the Canada Goose has been broken and reglued back together. It probable got dropped off a table at one time. Take notice to the close-up photo of the damage and repair. You can't really notice it from a normal looking distance. I only noticed it when I handled it for the photos.
These were only dusted with "Swiffer" type dusters when they came on the market. We enjoyed these Decoys all these years and now we're in our late 70's and need to downsize and sell off our collectables. I have over a dozen of these original Decoys that I'll list here if this sells well.
