Vintage Hand Carved - Black Duck - by William Weidemann Sr. The Bird Man of St. This is a 1:1 Full Scale Size Decoy (see photo, it actually measures about 13 1/2 long). My wife would order these hand carved waterfowls for me each year for our Anniversary.
Bill Weidemann of Paoli, PA had one of the small shops located in the St. Peters, PA (see photo of actual building still there, but naturally a different business occupies it now).
My wife would place an order 8-10 months ahead of our Anniversary in order to have it by our Anniversary. For years she would do this. We displayed them on deep windowsills and on large pieces of furniture.
They are in "Like New - as Carved" condition. There are absolutely no dinks or flaws to the decoy. They were only dusted over with "Swiffer" type dusters when they came on the market.
We enjoyed these Decoys all these years and now we're in out late 70's and need to downsize and sell off our collectables. I have over a dozen of these original Decoys that I'll list here if this sells well.
