VINTAGE WISCONSIN MALLARD DUCK DECOY PAIR BY GUS NELOW. This is a Pair of Mallard duck decoys by the famous decoy carver Gus Nelow of Omro Wisconsin. They are standard size decoys 16 and 18 long. They are in strong original paint with light wear overall. There is a slight hairline crack in the neck of the Drake and a small chip on the left side of the tail.
Nelows are hard to find and desired by collectors for their folky look. These are from the famous Ron Koch collection and are excellent examples by Nelow. For further information on Gus Nelow please reference articles in Decoy Magazine and the book Decoys of the Winnebago Lakes by Ron Koch.
